About

"Go Hard" is the third single off of American Hip Hop artist Kreayshawn's 2012 debut album Somethin' 'Bout Kreay which has gained popularity through animation fan art and TikTok.

Origin

On July 24th, 2012, Kreayshawn released the official music video for "Go Hard" (shown below). The video has gained over 13.3 million views and 142,000 likes in seven years.



Spread

During the week of October 6th, 2012, "Go Hard" got to number 29 on the U.S. Rhythmic Songs Chart. The song spent five weeks on the billboard charts.[1]

Animations

On August 24, 2017, YouTuber Josh May uploaded IslandGirl's original animated music video for "Go Hard." After Islandgirl's "Go H4rd" animation, many animators began making their own versions of the music video. Animations usually involved orignal furry or anime characters. On May 30th, Toibara uploaded another "Go H4rd" animation which accumulated over 1.8 million views and 95,000 likes in a year (shown below, right).



TikTok

On April 19th, TikTok user @nikjwells uploaded a video using the song and used had written labels to act out a scene involving billionaires and the Notre Dame Fire (shown below, left). The video gained over 44,300 likes and 2,800 shares in two weeks. Other users began using the clip in a similar format with hand written signs labeling themselves in ways to illustrate a scene. On April 20th, Tik Tok users @alyssanagy18 and @heartlessaquarius uploaded similar videos with very different themes (shown below, right). The video gained over 28,300 likes and 24,900 likes respectively in two weeks.
