About
How Did You Do In P.E. Today? refers to a widely shared and parodied image of a poster asking "How did you do in P.E. today?" along with three images meant to illustrate how one feels about their performance in gym class. Between typical "happy" and "sad" faces is a creepy face with exaggeratedly dark shadows and circles around its eyes. The face and the poster have been parodied and reposted across social media in various exploitable memes.
Origin
On April 18th, 2014, Imgur[1] user markymarktwain uploaded the first known post showing the poster about physical education, gaining over 5,000 views in roughly seven years (shown below).
Spread
Over the following years, the image was reposted to numerous social media sites, including multiple Reddit reposts,[4][5] Tumblr[6] and Twitter.[7] On June 12th, 2020, Twitter user @Squimpus[2] posted a Discord conversation they had with a user named LEEDLEMANN in which they claim to have discovered the origin of the creepy face. It is a still image of an animated emoticon from Emoticon Max.[3]
The image has also been parodied in numerous ways as an exploitable. For example, an unknown user drew the face as the moon from Majora's Mask (shown below, left). On March 23rd, 2021, user @MarioIsBroken[8] posted a parody featuring Mario's faces (shown below, right).
