The posts inspired viral memes and jokes that mocked the idea of imagining ChatGPT as a person as they spread online in early 2025.

Origin

On January 26th, 2025, TikToker^[1] @mymetaldiary posted a video showing a slideshow of various brown-haired men with glasses alongside text that read, "This is how I imagine Chat GPT." The video gathered over 340,000 plays and 74,000 likes in a month.

On March 2nd, Twitter / X^[2] user @issaaa___02 posted two images from the aforementioned montage, writing, "How I imagine ChatGPT btw," gathering an unknown number of likes before deleting the post.

Spread

Several internet users reacted to @issaaa___02's post with both sincere and sarcastic tweets about what they imagine ChatGPT to look like. On March 2nd, 2025 X^[3] user @THECOOLISSUE quoted the post with a photo of a server room, gathering over 40,000 likes on a tweet that read, "how I imagine chat gpt cause I'm normal."

Also on March 2nd, X^[4] user @lesbeyonsay posted images of raging forest fires, writing, "how I imagine ChatGPT btw," and gathering over 260,000 likes in a day.

On March 3rd, 2025, the Instagram page @left4rat reposted stills from the original TikTok about reimagining ChatGPT as a handsome young man, gathering over 3,000 likes in a day.

On March 2nd, Twitter^[5] user @Merzwoke posted a dim image of an overweight man wearing urine-stained boxers, gathering over 37,000 likes in a day. A censored version of the post is shown below.
