On August 26th, the blog launched its own supplementary Twitter account.[4] As of late October 2014, the account has gained over 120,000 followers. On September 15th, Buzzfeed[2] picked up on the blog in a compilation post titled "This Tumblr Shows You What It’d Be Like If Classic Paintings Could Text And It’s Awesome." On September 18th, the German web culture blog Whudat[6] named "If Paintings Could Text" the Blog of the Day. On September 26th, CollegeHumor[3] covered the blog.
