I'm Gonna Act Super Cute refers to an exploitable two-panel meme in which a character says in a speech bubble, "I'm gonna act super cute," and then transforms into a cuter fan art version of themself. Sometimes, the transformed version is a stuffed animal or plushie of the character. The image macro series spread on social media sites like Twitter / X and Reddit in February 2025. The original meme is a panel from the manga series Chiikawa showing the character Momonga.
Origin
On November 25th, 2024, X[1] user @sillydenpa tweeted two panels from a page of the manga series Chiikawa showing the character Momonga saying, "I'm gonna act super cute," and then making an adorable face. Over three months, the tweet received over 62,000 likes (shown below). The full-length original manga panel is currently unknown.
Spread
On November 28th, 2024, the Facebook[6] page Pretend that this is a good name reposted the panel, gaining over 4,400 reactions in three months.
On February 2nd, 2025, X[2] user @hue_oo_ posted an altered iteration in which they inserted the character Jane Doe from the manga series Zenless Zone Zero, gaining over 14,000 likes in 16 days (shown below).
On February 9th, X[3] user @mo3tron reposted the original panel, receiving over 92,000 likes in nine days.
The aforementioned repost amassed a slew of quote tweets in the following days in which meme creators and artists shared variations of the format with new characters. For instance, on February 10th, 2025, X[4] user @morklr posted an iteration with VTuber Nerissa Ravencroft, gaining over 8,300 likes in eight days (shown below).
On February 16th, X[5] user @_Matioh_ tweeted an iteration showing the Roman emperor Nero Claudius and the Fate visual novel series character of the same name, receiving over 7,300 likes in two days (shown below).
On February 17th, 2025, Redditor[7] Marsupilami_316 shared an iteration to /r/MemePiece showing the One Piece character Nico Robin and plushie versions of her, receiving over 380 upvotes in a day (shown below).
