I'mma Put My Cat On the Mic refers to a viral video of Twitch streamer Ac7ionman streaming with a young squeaker named Kevin in which Kevin says he's going to put his cat on the mic but instead makes loud meowing noises into the microphone repeatedly as Ac7ionman asks him to stop. The stream highlight was posted to Ac7ionman's TikTok in May 2021 and went viral over the following years on YouTube, inspiring animations and memes using the audio.
Origin
On May 21st, 2021, Twitch streamer Ac7ionman posted a video to his TikTok[1] account captioned, "Kevin puts his cat on the mic and this happened" (shown below). In the clip, Kevin says he's going to put his cat on the mic but instead meows loudly and violently into the mic himself as Ac7ionman tries to get him to stop. The video gained over 100,000 views in three years. Kevin is a kid with who Ac7ionman has made a series of videos in which they have humorous back-and-forths.[2]

A version of the clip was reuploaded to YouTube[3] that day, garnering over 300,000 views in the same span of time. Another version was uploaded to YouTube[4] on June 16th, garnering over 700,000 views in the same rough span of time. The original clip has out-of-sync audio, which was corrected by YouTuber[5] GummyCubez in November 2021, garnering over 2.9 million views in just over a year (shown below).

On August 3rd, 2021, YouTuber[6] Hoxdolum posted an original animation using the audio from the clip, garnering over 2.3 million views in two years (shown below).
On August 19th, 2022, YouTuber[7] Mole_Maniac posted a Cookie Run animation that gained over 45,000 views in six months (shown below, left). On September 25th, YouTuber[8] Purx124 posted an animation featuring Meow Skulls from Fortnite that gained over 40,000 views in five months (shown below, right). Ac7ionman posted the video to TikTok[9] that day, garnering over a million views in the same span of time.
