About

Liam Payne's "Strip That Down" Dance is a video of Liam Payne from One Direction dancing to and performing his song "Strip That Down" at the Z100 Summer Bash in August 2018. The dance, which many saw as humorous in its execution, resurfaced and became popularized on TikTok in June 2022 as users began performing it in a dance trend.

Origin

On August 22nd, 2018, Liam Payne performed a set at the Z100 Summer Bash concert. During his performance of "Strip That Down," Payne does a dance where he crouches down, kicks his legs outward, then gets up and sways, also spinning around. Several videos of the performance were uploaded to YouTube[1] that day (example shown below).

On April 4th, 2020, TikToker[2] @strayboyzluvr posted a video showing Payne performing the dance at the show from another angle. The TikToker uses the Green Screen effect and performs the dance next to Payne, gaining over 1.3 million views in two years (shown below).
