Magik Peeking From a Corner or Magik Starting From a Corner refers to a series of Marvel Rivals memes that depict Magik, a comic book character and a playable character in the video game, peeking from a corner or standing fully behind it, her presence betrayed by only her sword sticking out. The memes, which reference the character's gameplay in Marvel Rivals, first achieved virality on TikTok in January 2025 and later inspired fan art.

Origin

In the 2024 hero shooter video game Marvel Rivals, Magik is a Duelist character who is able to kill squishy opponents with a rapid combo of her abilities, and her basic playstyle relies on flanking the enemy team and killing a Support or another Duelist before the teamfight.

On January 9th, 2025, TikTok^[1] user @allauthority posted a humorous video parodying the character's gameplay, captioning it, "How the Magik mains been moving." The upload (shown below) received over 1.6 million views and 269,000 likes in four months.

On January 18th, 2025, X^[3] user @Fundip0 posted a cat edit that garnered over 1,900 reposts and 26,000 likes in two days (shown below).

More videos and images contributing to the meme were posted in the following months by Marvel Rivals-themed accounts and communities, such as the subreddit /r/marvelrivals on Reddit.

Notably, on April 10th, 2025, Redditor Poposhirat posted a chibi fan art inspired by the trend that received over 8,700 upvotes in /r/marvelrivals^[4] in one month (shown below).
