Ninja Hits the Woah refers to a viral TikTok animation of a LAMO figurine of streamer Ninja dancing and doing The Woah dance move. In April 2020, the TikTok clip gained notable popularity in edits, particularly in bait-and-switch videos.

Origin

On January 21st, 2020, TikTok^[1] channel playlamo posted a 3D animation of a LAMO figurine of streamer Ninja hitting the woah. The clip received over 72,900 views and 6,700 likes in five months.

Spread

Prior to April 2020, the clip has been reuploaded a number of times on YouTube, Instagram, iFunny and other platforms. For example, a January 26th, 2020, reupload by YouTube^[2] user STRAWBERRYCREAAM received over 64,000 views in five months. On February 9th, Instagram^[3] user aurarai reposted the video.

On March 29th, Instagram^[18] user redgushers posted an edit in which the parts with Ninja hitting the woah were replaced by a viral photograph of a shoebill stork. The earliest found reuploads of the video were made by YouTube^[4] user evan alejandro on April 4th and Instagram^[5] user pedros_friend on April 5th (shown below).

Following the viral spread of the edit, the clip gained popularity as source material for shitposts, with users replacing the woah part with various clips. For example, on April 8th, 2020, iFunny^[6] user JohnnyTesticles posted NSFL edit which received over 1,100 likes. On April 11th, iFunny^[7] user Ringedstingray used the clip as a part of a White People Be Like / Black People Be Like shitpost.
