Peter B. Parker Sucking Fingers refers to a memorable scene from the 2018 animated superhero film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Online, the scene has been circulated in remixes, while a still image of Peter B. Parker sucking on his fingers has been used as an exploitable.

Origin

On June 6th, 2018, the first trailer for then-upcoming animated superhero film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was released on YouTube.^[1] In one scene teased in the trailer, character Peter B. Parker is shown eating a burger in a diner and sucking on his fingers afterwards.

Spread

The scene did not see any use in memes until on December 26th, 2018, an unknown user posted a still image from the scene captioned "me when I get shit on my fingers while wiping my ass" (earliest Twitter repost^[2] of the meme shown below).

In the following days, multiple reposts of the joke were made on Twitter^[3][4], iFunny^[5] and Instagram.^[6] On December 26th, Instagram^[7] user salad.snake reposted a still image from the scene, with their post receiving over 40,300 likes in four months.

Starting in late December 2018, the scene was used in meme remixes on Instagram, with notable examples created by users thermalblitz^[8] (shown below) and elmemexicano.^[9]

In the following months, both the scene and the still image saw moderate use in memes on Instagram,^[10] Reddit^[11] and other online platforms.
