Ren Snaps (also known as "You Dare Not Agree with X") is a YTP remix fad based on a clip from the popular animated TV show Ren & Stimpy. In each instance, a person or thing replaces the spot of the main character Ren. Occasionally, the pitch of the voice is changed and/or the video is edited in some different way.

Origin

The original clip, entitled "Ren Snaps", was taken from the Ren and Stimpy episode "Stimpy's Fan Club" (shown above) in which Ren imagines himself being the President of the United States.

He becomes furious when someone refuses to agree with him on some unknown issue, thus forcing Ren to push "the button" which makes a large portion of the world, visibly containing the country of Australia (though in some versions, the country is replaced with another item/place, i.e. the Guiyii video blowing up 4Chan), completely explode.

Derivatives

Although the original video is from 2008, the "You dare not agree with" videos started popping up around March of 2009. The below video is from March 19, 2009. It is believed to be one of the first videos of this sort.

Many of the "You Dare Not Agree With" videos were made in March-June of 2009. But these videos are still being made. This video was posted to Youtube as recent as December 29, 2009. If one looks up "You dare not agree with" in Youtube one will still find very newly posted videos relating to the fad.
