About
Right Ear, The Bible (Chinese), Left Ear, Mozart (2x Speed) refers to a video showing a grey 3D man listening to the Bible in Chinese (Mandarin) in his right ear and orchestral music by composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in his right ear set to 2x speed. The original image was posted to Twitter / X in early 2022. In 2024, video iterations of the meme went viral on YouTube, TikTok and X, leading to variations of the format that replaced the audios or evolved the audios by making them more chaotic and overbearing. The meme vaguely references an episode of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia called "Flowers For Charlie" in which the character Charlie Kelly listens to Mandarin in one ear and Beethoven in the other.
Origin
On February 23rd, 2022, X[12] user @TallBart posted a two-panel image of a buff 3D grey man with text surrounding him, labeling different parts of his body. For instance, on the left side, it read by his head, "Right ear The Bible (Chinese)" and "Left ear Mozart (2x speed)." In one year, the post received roughly 1,400 likes (shown below).
Spread

Later on February 23rd, 2024, X[2] user @chucktherapist replied to the post with a video that fulfilled the meme's prompt, gaining over 420 likes in 11 days (shown below). When listened to with headphones, the Bible is read in Chinese in the right ear and Mozart's "Lacrimosa" is played at 2x speed in the left ear.
