About

Evade is a Roblox Experience by Hexagon Development Community based on Garry's Mod's Nextbot Chase game type. Evade tasks players with evading loud, free-roaming PNGs, often depicting famous memes, for as long as possible, with the last surviving player declared the winner. The game is played in teams and players have the ability to revive their teammates. It was first made playable in June 2022 and became notably popular in August of that year on YouTube and TikTok, sparking the "I Can Save Us, My Atlantic" trend on the latter where users upload clips of players reviving others set to "My Atlantis" by Seafret.

History

On June 10th, 2022, Roblox[1] game development group Hexagon Development Community, owned by player OsterDog created the experience "Evade," a game where players try and escape from "NextBots," which are non-player NPCs that free roam around a given map and chase the player, emitting louder and louder noise as they near the player. The game is played in teams and team members are able to revive each other if taken out by a NextBot. The last surviving team or player wins. On August 19th, YouTuber[2] Sketch published a video where he plays the game and discusses it, garnering over 500,000 views in two weeks (shown below). By August 30th, the experience had been viewed over 115.3 million times and favorites over 700,000 times.
