Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash is an arena fighter game based on the Jujutsu Kaisen anime franchise. Shortly following the release of the game in February 2024, the game drew social media attention over its poor quality, becoming a subject of memes and discussions.
History
Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash was officially announced at the Bandai Namco Summer Showcase 2023 on July 1st, 2023. On the same, the game's official X[1] page was created, sharing a trailer (shown below) of the game, which amassed 1.6 million views and 13,000 likes in seven months.

On February 1st, 2024, the game was officially released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox Series X & S, Xbox One and PC. On January 31st, 2024, Bandai Namco posted a launch trailer[2] on YouTube (shown below), amassing over 133,000 views and 5,000 likes in five days.
Gameplay and Features
According to the game's Wiki Fandom[3] page, Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash is a 3D action brawler where players create a team from the anime’s cast of Jujutsu Sorcerers and Cursed Spirits and unleash powerful attacks with the series’ famed Cursed Techniques in 2v2 combat.
Reception
The game holds a 5.1 review score on Metacritc[4] based on 27 user scores.
Online Presence
The game's release drew negative attention on social media over its poor quality and static content. For example, on February 3rd, 2024, TikTok[5] user @immuzzy posted a video playing the game with an overlay text calling it "the worst game of 2024." The video (shown below, left) amassed more than 377,000 plays and 11,800 likes in two days. On the same day, TikTok[6] user @classicmand shared his thoughts on the game (shown below, right), which received over 975,000 plays and 137,000 likes in two days.
