The Poison. The Poison For Kuzco. The Poison Chosen Specially For Kuzco. Kuzco's Poison is a line said by Kronk in the 2000 Disney animated movie The Emperor's New Groove. The meme is often used in image macro or GIF form to joke about a repetitive task, or to repeat something several ways to comedic effect.

Origin

In the Disney animated film The Emperor's New Groove, released on December 10th, 2000, the antagonists Yzma and Kronk finish the preparations for a dinner with Kuzco, during which they plan to assassinate him. Their dialogue includes a comically repetitive line from Kronk:

- Oh, right, the poison. The poison for Kuzco. The poison chosen specially to kill Kuzco. Kuzco's poison. …That poison?
- YES, that poison!
- Gotcha covered.

The oldest online occurence of this line is a GIF set[5] posted on January 13th, 2013 by Tumblr user oliviergiroudd, gathering over 23,000 notes in eleven years.

The oldest videos of this scene are a YouTube clip of the official French dub of the movie[1], dating from October 21st, 2013; and a video based on that same French dub, posted on YouTube on February 13th, 2013[2]. The oldest video isolating Kronk's line about Kuzco's poison[3] (see below) was uploaded on YouTube by Eduardas Abelkalnas on December 8th, 2013, where it gathered over 1 million likes in a day.
