About
The Roaring Knight, also referred to as "The Knight" in-game, is the primary antagonist from the video game Deltarune. The character's reveal in Deltarune: Chapter 3 has led to several works of fan art, as well as fan covers and remixes of their battle music "Black Knife". There have also been several fan theories and debates about the Roaring Knight's true identity.
Origin
In Deltarune chapters 1 & 2, the knight is only mentioned as "The Knight" by the several of game's characters, notably Chaos King and Queen, as well Seam and Spamton. At the end of Deltarune: Chapter 3 (which was released on June 4th, 2025), however, the Roaring Knight is finally appears (shown below) after Tenna goes against the Knight's orders and attempts to return Toriel back to Susie and Kris. Tenna is immediately slashed into pieces by the Knight after doing so, and the Knight's physical appearance is finally revealed as the camera pans to the right. The knight turns around to face the group as it pulls out a large baseball bat, which turns into a sword as the battle begins and their boss battle tune "Black Knife" plays.
The Roaring Knight's boss battle is extremely difficult, and is currently the most difficult battle in the game so far. However, the battle is not impossible to win, and upon doing so will get the player both a shadow crystal and a piece of the Knight's sword called the Black Shard. The battle can be made easier for some by obtaining the "Shadow Mantle" armor item from playing Chapter 3's secret route.

True Identity Theories
Fans have speculated that the Knight may be a member of the Holiday family due to the antler-like horns that are present on the Knight's helmet.
