Trad Husband, also known as Trad Boywife, refers to a variant Wojak character of the Trad Girl / Tradwife that was created on 4chan in 2019. Alternatively, the Trad Husband was first posted to Twitter in early 2021, spreading over the following years as an exploitable in memes.

Origin

On February 22nd, 2021, Twitter^[1] user drommba posted a tweet that included the first known image of the Trad Husband, referring to the character in the tweet as the "trad boywife." The tweet (shown below) received roughly 1,400 likes over the course of one year.

Spread

Also on February 22nd, 2021, Twitter^[2] user drommba posted another meme using the Trad Husband, placing him next to a different and effeminate, male Wojak alluding to femboy aesthetics. The tweet (shown below) received 267 likes over the course of one year.

On May 13th, 2021, Twitter^[3] user AryasOf posted a tweet that featured the Trad Husband side-by-side with a female version of the Yes Chad character, captioning the two images, "We've GOT to set these two up." The tweet (shown below) received six likes over the course of seven months.

On July 9th, 2021, the image of the Trad Husband was posted to 4chan^[4] in the /lit/ messageboard captioned, "Ernst Jünger – Approaches" (shown below).

The Wojak continued to surface in memes going into 2022, spreading to other platforms like Instagram. For instance, on January 17th, 2022, Instagram^[5] page hyperreal_pill posted a meme that used a Doomer Thought Chain template featuring the Trad Husband, Wife and the Doomer E-Boy. The meme (shown below) received roughly 1,700 likes over the course of one day.
