Dying Light 2, the sequel to 2015's best-selling game Dying Light, has finally been released after years of delays and hype. Some fans had long given up on the game, with many memes being made about how a sequel would never happen or about the game being stuck in development hell, but all of those memes are now nulled.
Early reports from gamers on social media so far are that the game largely looks and feels great to play, with many posting their favorite parts of early gameplay online for others to see and react to.

Another part of having a successful launch besides good reviews is player size. If a game has largely good reviews and nothing but amazing feedback from everyone but is still barely played, then it's truly hard to measure how successful the game is and if future titles might be made.
That is an issue that is not being faced by Dying Light 2, which has gone on to post incredibly large Steam numbers mere hours after its launch, with the number growing even higher later in the day. Players appear to not only love the game but are playing it in droves. This mass reaction to the game has also compelled others to tell their timeline that the game deserves to be played, while getting others to feel that they are missing out by not playing it.

HUGE launch for Dying Light 2 on Steam. Currently at 160,202 Concurrent Players
That's 50% bigger than last year's Resident Evil Village and 3.5x the All-Time Peak of Dying Light 1!

There also are a number of easter eggs being found or outright stated by fans of the game, with one being that Twitch streamer Leahviathan can be found as an NPC within the game in an undisclosed location.
