Dude, people all over the world have grew up with and become attached to the characters he created. Crying over the death of someone who has impacted your life due to his actions or works in his life isn't cringe; it's human. If crying over the death of a genuinely good human being who's responsible for some of my favorite characters in all of fiction is wrong, then goddamnit, I don't want to be right.
