Unlike the case of lutetium hydride, these experiments shouldn't be all that challenging for other groups to reproduce. A lot of great materials synthesis work is done in Korea. If a time traveler from the future told me that room temperature superconductivity would be discovered by a random group in Korea, I would say, yeah, that sounds plausible. Also, the data don't look outlandish, though I'm not an expert in these particular techniques, and I've only skimmed the paper so far. If I wanted to be critical, I would say that the magnetic susceptibility measurements aren't gorgeous, and I can't tell what configuration they used for transport. Still, it does seem to be a superconductivity- or-fraud-choose-one situation. It's difficult to learn about the authors. I hadn't heard about them prior to this, and I don't see much of a publication record. The English abstract of their Korean language paper (published April 30th) comes across as naive to say the least.
