Jesus basically saw that a Temple, what should be a holy place dedicated to worship, had essentially turned into a moneyfest with the animal sellers charging insane rates and generally scamming people that needed sacrifices out of their money. Jesus saw this, got rightly pissed, and drove them all out of the building with a whip.
