Need sauce or did not happen (but to be honest I find this likely)

Sword Art Online is the Twilight of anime, except even shittier.

Cheap wishfulfillment? – Check
Mary Sue protagonist? – Check
Incoherent plot? – Check
Manipulative storytelling? – Check
Amateurish writing? – Check
All characters are cliché stereotypes? – Check
Author clearly has no idea of where the story is going and is making it up on the fly? – Check
Panders to a juvenile audience? – Check
Is a glorified fanfic? – Check

At least Twilight has some semblance of a narrative. A beginning, middle, and an end. What does SAO have? A false premise, leading into a harem show, seperated by two cop out endings, and a truckload of plot holes along the way.
