The exposed video generated viral reactions and memes, predominantly posted by Kya's male fans. The video caused backlash against the person who leaked it as many believed that it was a retaliation against Kya who'd become an internet it-girl and viral sensation in the month before. Others believed that it was not Kya in the video and that people were trying to ruin her career in its early stages.

On December 15th, 2024, X^[1] user @sh6rky tweeted, "Bitches leaked Kya sex tape cause she was cooking?! @God send the flood pls," gaining over 4,500 likes in a day (shown below). The tweet is the first known viral reaction to a video allegedly showing TikToker Cooking With Kya giving oral sex. In a reply, X^[2] user @sh6rky alleged that a woman from "Long Beach" originally leaked the video. The claim is unconfirmed.

Outrage concerning the alleged Cooking With Kya video was expressed in viral tweets, aimed at whoever posted and spread the video.
