The trend was popularized on TikTok in December 2025 by user @tlohhh and carried on into early 2026, becoming a prevalent fantasy sports punishment meant to embarrass people who lose at fantasy sports.

On December 7th, 2025, TikToker[1] @tlohhh posted a comedy video where he shows off several "goated cuck chair techniques," garnering over 1.9 million views in a month.
In the video, he acts out moves including the "electric chair," where he pretends to be electrocuted in the cuck chair, "the thinker," where he watches thoughtfully, and "the coach," where he aggressively coaches. This is the earliest known example of the meme.

The same TikToker continued to post videos doing new poses that month, many gaining millions of views. For example, on December 10th, he posted a video to TikTok[2] doing poses like "the gargoyle" and "spare change," garnering over 3.4 million views in a month.
