EU Votes In Favor Of Article 13, Giving Copyright Holders Undue Power Over Internet Platforms
Origin Entry:
EU Copyright Directive / Article 13
Description
The Copyright Directive, notorious for containing the dreaded Article 13, has been accepted in the European Union by five votes. Internet platforms will be under pressure to further filter out "infringing" content. It's a bad scheme that fails to address fundamental problems with content sharing platforms and only seeks to drag copyright law backwards instead of forwards.
