Princess Daisy is one of the most beloved characters in the Super Mario Bros. franchise, and YouTuber ZackScott is taking his love of the character to the next level.

Recently, ZackScott started commissioning artists to turn their existing Princess Daisy art into Elephant Daisy art, and now, the anti-AI art crowd is celebrating him for it.

But why exactly is ZackScott posting all this art, how are people reacting to it, and where does Elephant Daisy even come from? Here's what you need to know.

Why Is ZackScott Commissioning Elephant Daisy Art?

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a video game in the Super Mario Bros. franchise that was released by Nintendo in October 2023.

The game introduces the Elephant Fruit, which turns the character who eats it into an anthropomorphic elephant. Many fans loved the addition to the game (evident in the virality surrounding Elephant Mario), including gaming YouTuber ZackScott.

The month of the game's release, ZackScott started commissioning artwork of Princess Daisy after eating the Elephant Fruit. The earliest known example of this was when ZackScott commissioned artist and X user @DingityDingus to redraw one of their existing Daisy artworks to show her as an elephant. ZackScott would occasionally share similar commissions on his X account over the following months.

How Are People Reacting To ZackScott's Elephant Daisy Art?

In April 2025, ZackScott seemingly decided to go on an extensive Elephant Daisy commissioning spree.

On April 5th, he posted a newly commissioned piece of Elephant Daisy art, once again based on a preexisting piece of art. This was only the beginning, as Zack continued to post more than 10 examples of commissioned Elephant Daisy art over the next four days, often captioning the posts, "I loved the original, but she wasn't an elephant, so I commissioned the same artist to turn her into an elephant."

The posts have inspired a lot of mixed reactions. Some people are genuinely concerned that ZackScott might be going insane, while others are happy to revel in the wave of new Elephant Daisy art and make memes about the situation.

The anti-AI art crowd, however, is celebrating ZackScott for actually hiring artists to make the art rather than using AI to turn Daisy into an elephant.
