IRON TAIL AND POISON JAB
FAERIES AIN'T SHEEEEIT.
Also, fuck the police. I'm using MegaZard X. Or MegaBro (Latios)
So… Um… Weird question… But… Has Diancie or Hoopa actually been released in any event yet?
… Because I don't like missing events… And lately I'm afraid I might have.

Diancie has, but I don't think Hoopla has. The codes for Diancie burned out very quickly at my local GameStop, if I remember correctly.
There's a Hoopla movie coming out/out, so I'd expect there to be an event for that soon.
You might be able to trade with some friends and then trade right back just for the Pokedex data. I traded off a Thundurus for a Groudon on the GTS, because I knew Thundurus was in high demand, and someone probably would be willing to dish off a Groudon.

I really need a Charizardite X…
So, continuing the Dragon Type conversation, I'm trying to do a Dragon Monotype run of Pokemon Y. But the issue is, I can't get the Charizardite X. Which is why I need some help. Can anybody just get me the Mega Stone? I'll trade a Chespin for it, just give me anything holding the Mega Stone.
And before you tell me to just scan the QR Code, the game locked that out. Now I can't use them. Any QR coders can help too.

Wait is it even possible to trade a pokemon holding a mega stone? I thought the game wouldn't let you trade if you tried to do that.

It's possible to trade a Pokemon holding a Mega Stone in a normal trade. Not in Wonder Trade, the game will prevent it if you tried to trade a Pokemon with a Mega Stone.

So, current status of the (almost) Dragon Monotype run…
> Raziel (MegaZard X): lv. 39
> M.G. Rex (Axew): lv. 35
> Raiden (Latios): lv. 37
> Starfire (Latias): lv. 35
> Monsoon (Shelgon): lv. 35
> Minerva (Dragonair): lv. 35
And halfway through; about to take on the fourth gym. The curbstomp battle is palpable.
You know… I've been wondering about the type combinations that we don't have any Pokemon in. Mostly the expected questions like "would they be any good". But also "How many are there left?"
I counted them up, and after figuring I should also count type combos that we only have Legendaries of, or only have as an alternate form to something else; mainly because competitive players probably care… I found its somewhere in the range of 55 combinations left. (I lost count after realizing I missed one.)
Which kind of seems like if Game Freak wanted… They could probably fill the rest out in a single generation if they really wanted, even having room for most of them to have three stages. (Given 3 times 55 is 165. Which is only a little over what Gen 1 had.)
Granted… I imagine they probably won't do that. But I still find it interesting that the types remaining aren't as many as I would have thought a few gens ago.
Here's a list inside a spoiler tag… I'll bold the ones we already have by technicality but are either Legendary or an Alt Form.

Well… Since I've started myself on this topic… I may as well mention a few that caught my eye for one reason or another.
Electric/Dark:
When I first saw Luxray… My first thought was "YAY an Electric/Dark type!" and was suddenly disappointed when it turned out it wasn't even a dark type, despite the fact it looks like one so much.
Among other things, this type combo gets an honorable mention for being a Dual type where both types have at one point both depicted similar species… Namely, cats and dogs.
To be honest… I still kind of want them to give Luxray an Electric/Dark Mega Evolution before they give us one that isn't one.
Dark/Fairy:
This is a typing I imagine would have the potential to be one of the most popular Pokemon if someone actually made it. Partly because it would likely be a ridiculously cute critter if Sylveon is anything to go by.
Also because it would likely have the personality of the ultimate trickster. Which I find adorable.
…Aaaaand suddenly I find myself imagining Liepard getting this as a Mega Evolution… Thanks a lot brain.
Fighting/Dragon:
(Distant maniacal laughing)
This is the typing that I imagine being seen as THE MOST VIOLENT CREATURE IN EXISTANCE!
Squee!
Heck, its mere typing sounds like a combination of every Shonen Action Anime Ever! Though the fact it would take 4x damage from Fairy types… In a manner that would roughly sound like it was beaten by "the power of love", a thing straight from a Magical Girl Anime… Makes it sound slightly less awesome.
… But only slightly.
Welp… That's enough out of me… Which of the unused types do you guys care to see become a Pokemon?

@Lunar Protege
I could see Fighting/Dragon being a Mega Druddigon, actually.
Anyway, as for types I'd like to see…
Bug/Dragon This immediately comes to mind:
How could this NOT be badass? Also Mega Yanmega.
Fire/Grass The most brokenly overpowered Sunny Day user in existence. Sunny Day, then proceed to decimate everything with instant STAB Solarbeams and boosted STAB Flamethrowers.
Electric/Ghost Mega Eelektross when?

Isn't Rotom electric/ghost?
Anyways, I'd like to see poison/steel, because I think it'd be cool to see what GameFreak could do with such an idea. Maybe a radioactive pokemon? An industrial one? Its defenses certainly help.
Esoognaz said:

Huh… Nice catch.
I can only assume I missed that fact because its Rotom… Which I spent half the time highlighting the fact its alt forms are unique type combos.
Either way, Rotom's stats are pretty "meh". So I imagine some people might want that type combo to be done again anyways for a more stable, and more competitively viable Pokemon.

Suddenly imagining it being some kind of "Mercurial" Pokemon… Similar to Grimer/Muk, just its made of liquid metal.
My other thought is maybe the old tradition of putting poisons on one's weapons could be personified in a Pokemon… But I still can't figure that one out. Maybe a poisonous frog with blades sticking out of it… If we didn't already have that. (Crogunk)

We kind of already have a giant mechanical scorpion. And try as I might I realize that without Google its name eludes me. Which is quite an accomplishment in forgettably considering even Pokemon you don't call to mind too often will still have a name you can remember.
Googles Furiously
Drapion? Really? That's its name? Da hell? No wonder I kept confusing its name with a certain dragon.
And… Apparently it isn't even steel despite looking like a pile of metal plates. Da hell?
In any case… Wouldn't a Mechanical Scorpion be more likely to be typed Metal Bug?

Not necessarily.
Drapion, one of my favorites, has a Dark/Poison-typing, even though it's obviously a scorpion and evolves from a Bug/Poison Pokemon in Skorupi. The Dark nature of the Pokemon (i.e., being capable of using its brute strength to tear its foes apart but preferring to let the Poison do the work) makes it more of a sinister Dark Pokemon than a tricky Bug. Besides, there are already at least three great Steel/Bugs in the game that can go from wallbreakers, supporters, or sweepers.
If the Pokemon relies more on its Poison and Steel composition than its bug-like tendencies, then it could easily be Steel/Poison Of course, a factory "head" thing can also be a concept for a Steel/Poison type.
Josie Said:
Makes it more of a sinister Dark Pokemon than a tricky Bug.
50% of the time… I would reverse that phrasing. the other 50% I'd consider them both sinister.
Most because all the bugs seem sinister rather than tricky. Or maybe its just that the only "playful" looking bugs are all butterflies. With all the others looking like some war obsessed… Whatever.
That said… Dark goes all the way from "Silly Practical Jokes" to "Sadistic as Hell itself", while bugs seem to stick to body horror.
… It goes without saying I don't like the idea of being attacked by a Bug Pokemon.
So I went through the Elite Four in SoulSilver again, and GODDAMMIT I FUCKING HATE LANCE'S CHARIZARD AND HIS STUPID-ASS AIR SLASH SHIT. Anyway, this was my team…
-Wildwing (Golduck, Lv. 82) (MVP, because I was so lucky to remember I had a Blizzard TM in my bag. Swept the four Dragon-types and took out Charizard with Surf.)
-Spook (Gengar, Lv. 83) (Leadoff. Had the other KO against Lance, that being Gyarados with Thunder.)
-Overcast (Altaria, Lv. 82)
-Sorceress (Gardevoir, Lv. 83)
-Flashfire (Blaziken, Lv. 81)

1. Nice nicknames. I rate 9.5/10, the .5 being because you didn't give an epic name to Prank-Bro Gengar.
2. Looks like you're almost ready for Reddy (I am so sorry.). I recommend getting your highest level Ground type for that fucking Pikachu. Motherfucker OHKO'd my Level 100 Kyogre once. (Okay, critihax was involved, and I was still a n00b)
3. Blaziken is going to be instrumental in taking down Red's fatass dinosaur. Give him and Gardevoir special attention; they can both sweep his team with the right setup and moves.
4. I'd second-guess using Golduck. Empoleon can do a lot of what Golduck can, but better, tankier, and stronger. Unless you can't get a Piplup, in which case, you're screwed.
5. In-Game Charizards are utter bullshit in HG/SS. Fuck their Air Slash critihax AND flinch-hax.
My team at the moment:
- Raziel (Charizard X, Lv.42, Max Affection) (Trying to keep him as Godzilla Threshold. He'd completely wipe the floor with everything at the moment.)
- Aerrow (Latios, Lv.40, Two Hearts) (Def going to be in the endgame team. He's Psychic-Bro.)
- Starfire (Latias, Lv.38, One Heart) (At risk of being replaced by one of my benched dragons. Also, sorry abut the nickname… I couldn't resist the opportunity.)
- Metal Gear Rex (M.G. Rex) (Fraxure, Lv.38, 3 Hearts) (Current MVP. He'll be instrumental at that accursed Fairy Gym with Poison Jab. Plus Haxorus is mah freend.)
- Minerva (Dragonair, Lv.37, One Heart) (Dies CONSTANTLY. I'm thinking about switching her out, I'm not sure… Dragonite is a powerhouse.)
- Monsoon (OF THE WIIINDS OF DESTRUCTIONNNN.) (Shelgon, Lv.37) (Another definite endgame buddy. I might get antsy and give it Steel Wing in case Raziel can't defeat Diantha's Gardevoir, and plus Salamence is too awesome.)
Benched Dragons
- Blitzkreig (Deino, Lv. 35, No Hearts) (Likely going to switch Starfire with him. Even if Hydreigon is Fairy Fodder, it is still a flying deathmachine.)
- Druddigon (No Nickname, Lv.29, One Heart) (No way of returning. Was great in the early game, but started dying a little too much.)
- M.G. Rex V.2 (Tyrunt, Lv.20, No Hearts) (I'm iffy on this one. Tyrantrum's cool and all, but using it will just make me miss Skyfire the Aerodactyl from my Firered Playthrough…)
- Masamune (Gible, Lv. 14, No Hearts) (Another iffy one. Garchomp is great in battle, but dear god, I hate it. Low chance of entering playthrough.)
- Stormfly (Vibrava, Lv. 35, No Hearts) (If Minerva has to get Benched, then this fella's going to have a field day. Plus Flygon is way cooler than Garchomp.)
On to Clemont!
@Trollanort:
1. Well, I just went to the Name Rater and renamed my Gengar "Possessed." Much better, especially since Gengar is my favorite Pokemon.
2. My strongest Ground-type is a Lv. 74 Steelix named Solidsnake (sorry… sorry, everybody…), so I'll probably train him up.
3. Oh, I know. Flare Blitz is fuuuuuuun. Gardevoir also has pretty nice type coverage with Psychic for Venusaur, Magical Leaf for Blastoise and Lapras, and Focus Blast for Snorlax and Lapras.
4. Actually, I have an Empoleon in Diamond!
5. I FUCKING KNOW GODDAMMIT I HATE CHARIZARD SO MUCH

Uhhh…. yeah… you're the new Flannery Enthusiast here, buddy….
Before anyone asks, no, I'm not gunning for Zinnia. Tivictus got that covered.
Anyway, anything I should know about the second half of Pokemon Y before I continue my run? I barely remember the latter half of the game because the first time my Delphox completely stomped the yard.

Valerie uses Fairy types, she won't be hard if you know what to do even. After beating her, go to Pokeball Factory to beat Team Flare just so you can move forward. After that, you have to go to Frost Cavern because a Mamoswine won't let you mount because of its friend is in danger.
After you saved its friend from Team Flare, you can process to Anistar City. Olympia trump card is a Meowstic.
As of Team Flare plot, Lumiose City> Cafe Lysandre > Geosenge Town. Now you can chalenge the eighth gym and you probably figured out.

Any Pokemon you caught belongs to undiscovered egg group will have at least 3 perfect IVs in Generation VI. Most legendaries belongs to undiscovered egg group, that's why.
Hey, I don't know if any of y'all have a Bulbagarden account or not, but I'm writing a Pokemon fanfic that takes place on Earth and revolves around conspiracy theories and urban legends. I'd love it if you guys can give me feedback on the writing style and characters!

Well, since I've played a lot of Pokemon, I'm going to tell you my experience with this franchise.
It's kinda funny how in X/Y, if you used Global Trade, you'll had to wait weeks, if not a month to get that Pokemon, yet in OR/AS it took like minutes.
My first Pokemon that I received from Wonder Trade in Omega Ruby was a shiny Zubat.
It took me 50 turns to catch Heatran in Omega Ruby.
My start in competitive Pokemon was in X/Y. My teams sucked in B/W.
I couldn't even go online in HeartGold. It just didn't work.
Speaking of that game I have an odd nostalgic feeling towards it.
I miss the thing where Pokemon walked behind you. It was so good and one of the reasons why I bought it. It was my first Nintendo DS game.

Perhaps you tried to go online after May 2014?
OK so I haven't played Pokemon in a while.
I've decided to catch up the ones I missed, so I stopped playing OR and I'm now going back to buy and complete the ones I missed. I had beaten SS and then bought White, completed it, then bought White 2 and Y. Currently I have been slowly getting round to White 2 (time is limited these days) and when I'm finished I'm gonna move all my Pokemon from Emerald and newer to OR.

Do a mono ice type run, then I'll be impressed.
Anyway, I just got around to getting the event serperior (the one with contrary) and I'm fairly certain that it had pokerus (I didn't realize until my entire party was infected so it's hard to pinpoint patient zero). Was that a part of the event or did I just win the lottery?

Anyway, I just got around to getting the event serperior (the one with contrary) and I'm fairly certain that it had pokerus (I didn't realize until my entire party was infected so it's hard to pinpoint patient zero). Was that a part of the event or did I just win the lottery?
Not a part of the event, but it is a little more likely to get pokerus from an event pokemon than usual (don't know why or by how much).

Well that's pretty cool then I guess. In that case if anyone wants pokerus then shoot me a message with your friend code and I'll add you up and trade.
Guys, I found the greatest thing ever again.
Due to my impatience, my soul has been crushed. Does anyone have a spare shiny Eevee they could give me? ;A; I'm too impatient to do the Masuda Method or try and get the Shiny Charm…

So what are you thoughts on Shuffle and Rumble World?

Judging by my personality, physical capabilities, intelligence, yada yada yada whatever else you can think of that could relate someone and a Pokemon together, I would probably be a Gardevoir. First of all, you know how one of Gardevoir's Pokedex entries states that it can sense the emotions of nearby people and Pokemon? Well there's another that states that while it's sensing these emotions, it's mood at that specific point in time will almost always match those emotions. My mood doesn't actually change according to the moods of others, but when I see someone crying, my eyes tear up, when I hear laughing, I start laughing, when I hear/see someone being pissed off, I get pissed off. Second, I have an exceptionally high IQ, which matches perfectly with Gardevoir's psychic typing. Third, I have pretty much no muscle mass whatsoever (mild exaggeration), which reflects Gardevoir's extremely low Attack stat. Lastly, I'm usually very docile and nice, but can and sometimes will get severely vicious when pissed off, which is relevant to Gardevoir, because, yet another, Pokedex entry states that Gardevoir will only ever use it's maximum potential when its trainer is threatened, which can be viewed as becoming pissed or at least aggravated. As for a Pokemon I would LIKE to be rather than a Pokemon that's most like me, I would want to be a Houndour, specifically a Houndour, as Houndour is my favorite Pokemon: it's where the 'Fluffy' part of my username comes from, as all my Houndours are always called Fluffy.

Here's a neat idea for Steel/Poison:
I'm very surprised nobody has pointed out how this could be used by Game Freak as concept art for Mega Wheezing.
I am currently doing a randomizer run of Pokemon Fire Red.
The only rule is that I have to name my pokemon the first thing I think of.
My Current Team:
CUMTURNT (Slowbro) Lv.36
CHAGNAM (Charizard) Lv.36
DINOSTONER (Flygon) Lv.35
PINEPEEP (Sceptile) Lv.35
LAGHICCUP (Fearow) Lv.36
Also I just cleared the Sliph Co. so I am about to fight sabrina.
So anyone got any good recent stories involving shinies? Be it randomly encountered, breed, or otherwise.
I'll start, as of lately I've been doing another run through ORAS however this time at a much slower and more casual rate. With the addition of the DexNav I've been grossly obsessed in min-maxing the pokemon i want to join my team. Finding the desired pokemon i'd be searching for would usually take between 60-100+ encounters. While i knew the concept of using the DexNav might be similar to chaining, i knew better than to waste my time actively searching for one so i often would joke with myself "maybe this one will be the one".
So finally last night while hanging around route 115 looking for an ideal Swablu, i encounter a shiny Swablu which i both secretly wanted, and actually liked it's shiny variant's color pallet. While i was a little sad that the DexNav has shown it has no notable qualities, being shiny is good enough for me. So being gold colored the first name that came to mind was Midas, however since it's female i altered it slightly and called her Mida.TL;DR got a shiny Swablu, and i'm quite happy with it being the seventh shiny i ever owned, 5th i found in the wild, and first who's shiny design i actually liked.
So what are you thoughts on Shuffle and Rumble World?
I have no interest in most of the side games. Also, for the most part, I avoid the F2P sorts of games for any series. I'm sure they're quality games, but I'm not really interested.
So anyone got any good recent stories involving shinies?
I have a couple.
My first encounter with a shiny in X was a Geodude.
…in a horde…
…of other Geodude…
…who all knew Magnitude.
Guess what happened before I could take out the other four.

I actually came by here just to say to whomever that Damp has its uses especially in Battle Maison and outside of Single battles.
But not on a Ghost-type Pokemon Game Freak other Pokemon have it but why Jellicent it could have another cool ability instead.

Anyway. I wonder if Game Freak designed Soak for use in Doubles rather than singles? Their competitions are all doubles focused and most of the pokemon that can use Soak mostly cannot exploit it (Lanturn is the only one that can exploit it)

There are many attacks that are only useful in double or triple battles

Technically, Octillery can learn Energy Ball, but it lacks STAB.
I'm sure it has most of its uses in Doubles and Triples, but it can be defensive and more subtle in nature.
For example, if an opposing Pokemon is Skarmory, you can Soak it to make it purely Water-type. A huge reason to use Skarmory lies in its typing. With Soak, it's no longer immune to Toxic. This can be taken advantage of on your switch or if your Soaker Pokemon faints. The next Pokemon you send out is no longer dealing with the enviable Steel-Flyring type. You can use that Pokemon to hit it with an Earthquake, Sludge Bomb, Poison Jab, Psychic…all things a non-Soaked Skarmory would avoid or resist. That can force a switch that plays into your hands.
And, of course, you no longer get hit with STAB moves. In the case of Pokemon like Mega Lucario or the Porygon species, Adaptability is no longer a concern. And a lot of other Pokemon rely heavily on their STAB such as Scizor and Mega Scizor with Technician lose a lot of power (that Bullet Punch loses its STAB.)
I wouldn't incorporate it into a team, but someone can make it work to their advantage.
