About
8800 Blue Lick Road is the address of a church-turned makeshift warehouse that has been described as a cursed location. The building went viral in October 2020 after a 3D walkthrough of it began circulating online.
Origin
8800 Blue Lick Road is a building located in Louisville, Kentucky.[1] It was formerly a church called Bonaventure Boulevard Church of Christ. In 2014, a man named Troy Curtis was arrested at the location and charged with engaging in organized crime and receiving stolen property. Police described it as being part of a fencing operation that was under investigation since 2010.[2] A 3D virtual tour of the building was posted on real estate website Redfin[1] on August 8th, 2020. On October 15th, a shot was fired inside the location.[3]

Spread
In the early morning of October 26th, 2020, writer Jenny Jaffe tweeted[4] a link to Redfin's tour of the building on Blue Lick Road, saying she had found it in a Facebook group (shown below).

A later tweet[5] from Pat Ashe describing the tour as his "game of the year" received over 18,000 likes and 6,000 retweets in a day (shown below).

Users on ResetEra[6] later posted what appears to be Curtis' eBay account, where over 18,000 items are listed. Eventually, people began posting speedruns of the building with categories such as tub% and 100%. Several news sites reported on the sudden interest in the building's 3D walkthrough.[7][8][9]
A video of Yogscast member Lewis touring the house gained over 40,000 views in less than a day (shown below).[9]
