A Reverent "Fuck" refers to a copypasta spread in parody of a woman on Twitter who expressed her appreciation for a line from WandaVision by writing, "Do you hear that sound? It’s every screenwriter in the world whispering a reverent 'FUCK' under their breath." The tweet has been parodied as people have paired the copypasta with more humorous lines of dialogue from television and film.

Origin

On February 27th, 2021, Twitter user @MadHat31^[1] commented on a moment from WandaVision in which Vision says, "What is grief if not love persevering?", by tweeting, "Do you hear that sound? It’s every screenwriter in the world whispering a reverent “FUCK” under their breath." The tweet gained over 9,800 retweets and 75,000 likes (shown below).

Spread

The tweet received a fair bit of blowback from people who were less impressed with the line than @madhad31 and found the line relatively trite, particularly because it came from a Marvel property.^[2][3] The criticism extended into people memeing the tweet by turning it into a copypasta where it was paired with humorous pieces of media. In the replies to the original post, Twitter users @fromthedale_^[4] and @gayswordfight^[5] parodied the tweet with Dunkaccino and Spy Kids 2, respectively (shown below).

Other popular tweets with the format include a post from @AdequateEmily^[6] that gained over 4,400 retweets and 37,000 likes (shown below left) and a post from @fellawhomstdve^[7] that gained over 200 retweets and 4,400 likes (shown below, right). The jokes were covered by Uproxx.^[8]
