Anko Lying On Bed is an exploitable image used in a series of memes based on a scene from the anime series Call of the Night (Yofukashi no Uta) in which the character Anko Uguisu lies facedown on her bed, exhausted and hungover, with her posterior in the air and a grimace on her face. The scene comes from season two, episode 12, which premiered on September 19th, 2025. That day, a screenshot of the scene began spreading online, continuing to spread over the next few months as the subject of image macros and redraws on sites like Reddit and X / Twitter.

Origin

On September 19th, 2025, season two, episode 12 of the anime series Call of the Night aired. In one scene of the episode, Anko, hungover, slowly lies down on her bed on her stomach, raising her posterior in the air and grimacing uncomfortably. A screenshot of the scene was posted to the /r/YofukashiNoUta^[1] subreddit that day by Redditor Kastow, who titled the post, "creature," garnering over 4,100 upvotes in two months.

Several hours after the post was made, Redditor HoneZoneReddit^[2] commented with an edit that places Dororong from GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE on Anko's posterior, garnering around 110 upvotes in two months. This is the earliest known edit of the image.

Spread

The meme started to spread throughout the latter half of September 2025, continuing to spread in October and November of that year.

On September 19th, 2025, Redditor 3liteP7Guy posted a meme to the /r/Animemes^[3] subreddit that adds the caption "slug form activated" to the image, garnering over 2,700 upvotes in two months.

On September 26th, X^[4] user @Panzerthebest1 posted a meme using the same image, this time with the caption, "me when my weiner hurts," garnering over 9,300 likes and 530 reposts in two months.

On September 29th, Tenor^[5] user FarCritical posted a GIF of the scene.

On October 9th, 2025, Redditor Beatimus_Redd1t posted a version of the meme to the /r/YofukashiNoUta^[6] subreddit that shows Kirby latched to Anko's posterior, garnering over 10,000 upvotes in a month.

On November 3rd, X^[7] user @limboevelyn reposted the original image, garnering over 1,800 likes in a week.

On November 5th, X^[8] user @limboevelyn quoted their own post with a redraw of the image that replaces Anko with Rouge the Bat from Sonic the Hedgehog, garnering over 20,000 likes and 1,000 reposts in a week. The post inspired further redraws of the image.

Later on November 5th, 2025, X^[9] user @nonientalz posted a redraw of the image depicting Anko as Isabelle from Animal Crossing, garnering over 1,800 likes in six days.

On November 9th, X^[10] user @FlattenedBurger posted a redraw of the image, replacing Anko with their OC character, writing, "She misses her girlfriend," garnering over 6,800 likes in two days.
