Chris Brown Saying "Hell Nah" is a viral clip and greenscreen TikTok and CapCut template trend that gained traction in April and May 2024. The meme shows singer Chris Brown saying "Hell nah" or "Hell naw" during an interview with social media comedian Funny Marco. The interview was originally posted to YouTube in November 2024, before the sound bite became a popular lip-sync trend on TikTok after April 2025.
Origin
On November 9th, 2023, social media comedian Funny Marco interviewed Chris Brown for his interview-based YouTube[1] channel Open Thoughts. At the 4:51 timestamp, Funny Marco mentions that he has a twin sister who wants to have a baby with Chris Brown. Chris Brown responds by saying, "Hell nah. Fuck no." The channel also posted a clipped version of the segment to YouTube Shorts[2] on November 10th.
The interview gathered over 5.6 million views in over a year, while a separate clip of Chris Brown's reaction gathered over 750,000 views in the same timespan.
On April 13th, 2025, TikToker[3] @x_stillnotworthit_x posted a CapCut template of the segment, showing a greenscreened version of Chris Brown saying "Hell nah."

Other TikTokers latched on to the trend in April 2025, with TikToker[5] @jessnocuhh using the CapCut template to assert that she would not send her kids to sleepovers at other people's houses on April 14th, 2025. The post gathered over 500,000 plays and 80,000 likes in a month.
