About

Guy Dancing To "Murder on the Dancefloor" refers to a viral video turned greenscreen meme template of a man in a pink sweatshirt shouting, "Ay," and then dancing to and singing "Murder on the Dancefloor" by Sophie Ellis-Bextor, specifically the lyrics, "If you think you're getting away, I will prove you wrong." The man in the video is TikToker Mitchell van Genechten (@officialswaggie) and the original video was posted to TikTok in January 2024. Soon after, a CapCut template was made with the video called "Saltburn meme Mitche," leading to its usage as a greenscreen template. Meme creators layered van Genechten over backgrounds using him to portray excitement.
