P Power CapCut Template, also known as the TikTok Image Flashing Trend (not to be confused with the TikTok Flashing Trend), is a viral Capcut Video Template using the song "P Power" by Gunna featuring Drake, particularly the lyrics "how do you even be rockin' with buddy? The pictures I've seen, I'm like, 'Damn, he got lucky,' take it from him and I leave him with nothin'." After its creation on TikTok in mid-2023, the template became a trend used to show off pictures that would otherwise break the site's content policy, including explicit imagery.

Origin

On May 2nd, 2023, the untitled CapCut template was made, with the lyrics to Drake's verse on "P Power" being shown on screen before an uploaded image is inserted for a few frames, quickly flashing and then disappearing. The TikToker jorlynmariah^[1] was one of the first on the platform to use the template, having it be used to show a picture of her at a sporting event, earning over 40,000 views in six months (shown below).

Spread

The CapCut template saw immediate widespread use after its release with TikTokers using it to upload thirst trap images of themselves, often using it to try and get around TikTok's content moderation. On May 7th, 2023, the most viral usage of the template was uploaded by TikToker ml.paulinah,^[2] gaining over 1.3 million likes in six months (shown below).

Though the image only appears for a few frames, comments made on each one were quick to note how to either time the pause or manually move the TikTok to the correct timing on the desktop site, with comments being made from both males and females as the trend started to see usage by male users.

On May 16th, 2023, TikToker Kyfxh^[3] uploaded his take on the template, with a full body shot of him flexing his abs being on display, earning over 236,000 likes in six months (shown below).
