Tangerine and Lemon Looking Down, also known as the Bullet Train CapCut Template, is a POV CapCut meme template using the characters Tangerine (portrayed by Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Lemon (Brian Tyree Henry) from the movie Bullet Train in a scene where they're checking on someone in the train looking downward toward the camera. The reactions of the two, quizzical yet taken aback, made it widely applicable to use as both a reaction and exploitable format online, often set to the original sound "If u having a bad day just have a good day instead" by Fahad Kaleem on TikTok.

Origin

The movie Bullet Train came out on August 5th, 2022, but didn't see a streaming release until early 2023. As another example of The Netflix Effect, shortly after it was available streaming at home, the meme started to pop up. In the scene, Tangerine (on the right) and Lemon (on the left) are investigating a person on the train, with it being shown from the perspective of the person, leading to the reaction and memes. On February 4th, 2023, the POV of Tangerine and Lemon was used to show parents checking on their kid (you) after taking a long nap. It was posted by TikTok^[1] user AwayDolly2.0 (shown below).

Two days later on February 6th, 2023, the TikToker electussors^[2] uploaded a TikTok in which Tangerine and Lemon are checking on a homie who was shown to be suicidal but was really just sleeping, keeping the original intent and meaning as the show itself (shown below).

Following the initial postings to TikTok, the video template started to get used with the two being placed into other backgrounds. This can be seen in a TikTok posted on February 16th, 2023, by TikTok^[3] user thebman917, in which Tangerine and Lemon are put in a school gymnasium to better fit the caption of them knocking down a kid (shown below).
