About

The 2019 2020 2021 2022 CapCut Template, also known as the CapCut Years Template or CapCut Four Years Template, is a TikTok trend that uses a CapCut video template that shows a computer cursor clicking on the years "2019," "2020," "2021" and "2022" with a different video appearing for each year. The trend is meant to show time passing throughout the years, however, most TikTokers used the template to make memes by adding moldy Family Guy or SpongeBob clips and other viral videos for each year. The template is actually called "Year | Use nyo na" and it was created by CapCut user @Collenes in October 2022. Also, the trend uses the song "Pipelinefunk" by Armin Küpper.

Origin

In late October 2022, CapCut user @Collenes created a video template called "Year | Use nyo na" which allowed four clips to be added, each representing a different year (2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022). The template also used the song "Pipelinefunk" by saxophonist Armin Küpper in which Küpper is playing his saxophone into a large pipe and using the echos. The video was uploaded to YouTube[1] on June 9th, 2020.

Currently, the earliest known TikToker to use the template was TikToker[2] youstinkyguy on October 27th, 2022. The video included four viral videos, one of the being the I'm Glenn Quagmire video from Family Guy. Over the course of five days, the TikTok received roughly 827,300 plays and 152,300 likes (shown below).

Spread

Continuing into October and November 2022, the CapCut template gained notoriety as more creators started using it. For instance, on October 29th, 2022, TikToker[3] frenchladus posted an iteration that used the Spit on Your Hand and Stroke My Cock at a Medium Pace song, among others, gaining roughly 183,300 plays and 36,800 likes in three days (shown below, left). On October 30th, 2022, TikToker[4] snaplightgamingyt posted an iteration, claiming that the template was a "goofy ahh template" in the description and earning roughly 1.7 million plays and 370,400 likes in two days (shown below, right).
