Disruptive Durden, or "Helpful Tyler Durden", is an advice animal image macro series featuring a fan art painting of Tyler Durden, a character from the 1996 novel and the 1999 film adaptation of Fight Club, with captions describing ethically questionable deeds that end up helping someone else. Origin
The series uses an image of Brad Pitt as Tyler Durden from the 1999 hit cult film Fight Club. In the story, Tyler Durden promotes anarchy and mayhem by sabotaging various companies as acts of defiance against consumerism with his operation known as "Project Mayhem."[1][2] On January 4th, 2011, Reddit user ThatDrunkViking posted a thread on the r/AdviceAnimals subreddit titled “Helpful Tyler Durden”.[3] The post consisted of a compilation Helpful Tyler Durden instances on a green color wheel background, which received 2,759 up votes. The series of images had watermarks from Memegenerator.net, suggesting that the macros may have originated from the site.

Derivatives can be found on Tumblr[8], FunnyJunk[9], Memebase[10] and the Advice Animals subreddit.[11] There are 3 Memegenerator[4][5][6] pages containing various Tyler Durden derivatives, and a Facebook[12] fan page has 52 likes as of September 26th, 2011.
