Kyle Marisa Roth began posting TikTok content to her account @thekylemarisa_ on August 26th, 2022.[1] Her content centered on celebrity gossip early on. Across videos from 2022 to 2024, Roth established a catchphrase that she'd say before every blind item read, "You want more? I'll give you more." By April 16th, 2024, Roth had amassed over 200,900 followers on TikTok.[2]
On April 7th, 2024, Roth posted her last TikTok[3] concerning a JoJo Siwa blind item. About a week later, on April 15th, Roth's sister Lindsay Roth shared a post on Instagram[4] announcing the death of her sister Kyle Roth. She wrote, "my sister Kyle Marisa passed away last week. as a family we are still processing and deciding how to properly celebrate and honor her life…" The post gained over 8,000 likes in a day (shown below).
Also on April 15th, Roth's mother Jacquie Cohen Roth shared a post about her daughter's passing on LinkedIn, [5] receiving over 1,200 reactions in a day.
Roth's death was reported on by news outlets like Variety[6] and People[7] on the day of her death's announcement. Roth was 36 years old when she passed away. Her cause of death was not immediately reported.

On April 15th, 2024, fans of Roth reacted en masse on TikTok and elsewhere. For instance, on April 15th, TikToker[8] @smacktalkchampion posted a video, saying that she hoped Roth was "at peace," receiving over 378,300 plays and 3,300 likes in a day (shown below, left).
Also on April 15th, TikToker[9] @0liviajulianna shared a video in which she wrote, "RIP Kyle Marisa Roth, you would have loved reading blind items from Coachella," earning over 1.5 million plays and 65,400 likes in a day (shown below, right).

Viral reactions also surfaced on Twitter / X, evident in a quote posted by X[10] user @hellotefi on April 15th, 2024, who said, "I just can’t believe this is real. I am in denial," receiving over 2,600 likes in a day (shown below, left).
Others seemed to celebrate Roth's death, like X[11] user @rubyologist on April 15th, 2024, who posted a quote with a K-Pop related Funeral Food Be So Good video, receiving over 1,100 likes in a day (shown below, right).
Conspiracy Theories
On April 15th, 2024, various internet users levied conspiracy theories about Roth's death, predominantly citing her history of reading blind items, suggesting that her content could have caused her death.
For instance, on April 15th, 2024, TikToker[12] @mallugriftertv posted a video, suggesting that Jennifer Lopez (JLo) could have been responsible for Roth's death, citing a Forbes[13] article about JLo's "The Bronx" controversy that led to Roth's TikTok account being banned for some time. @mallugriftertv's video received over 168,700 plays and 7,400 likes in a day (shown below, left).
Also on April 15th, TikToker[14] @allie_k_dom posted a video in which she was skeptical about Roth's passing, asking, "Was it Nicki? Was it Diddy? Was it JLo?" Her video received roughly 129,400 plays and 8,400 likes in a day (shown below, right).

Later on April 15th, 2024, TikToker[15] @mrwilliamsprek posted a video in which he gave condolences to Roth's family and criticized people trying to spin conspiracy theories about her passing, stating that, being her fans "does not mean we are entitled to information of what happened to her and how she passed away." He further said that making up theories about her was "not okay." In a day, his TikTok gained over 897,300 plays and 57,100 likes (shown below).

Conspiracy theories surfaced on other social media sites too. For instance, on April 16th, X[16] user @ShadowofEzra tweeted videos from Roth's account, writing, "Kyle Marisa Roth, a famous Tik Toker has been found dead with no cause of death given. She recently uploaded videos exposing Oprah and Diddy…" In two hours, the post gained roughly 4,500 likes (shown below).
