Tfue's Faze Clan Contract Lawsuit refers to a lawsuit filed by Turner Tenney, better known by his gamer handle "Tfue," claiming the esports collective company FaZe Clan unlawfully demanded 80 percent of his profits.

Background

On May 20th, 2019, Tenney filed the lawsuit against FaZe Clan, accusing the gaming company of breaking California law by demanding 80 percent of his earnings. That day, the official FaZe Clan Twitter feed tweeted a response to the lawsuit (shown below).


Developments

That day, DramaAlert uploaded a video about the lawsuit titled "Tfue LAWSUIT against FaZe Clan! #DramaAlert FaZe Banks Interview!," featuring an interview with FaZe Banks (shown below, left).That day, streamer Ninja uploaded a video reacting to the interview (shown below, right).

Also on May 20th, FaZe Banks released a video titled "Dear Tfue" on YouTube (shown below, left). Within 72 hours, the video gathered more than 7.1 million views and 82,000 comments. The following day,, Philip DeFranco released a video explaining the dispute between Tfue and FaZe Clan (shown below, right).

On May 22nd, Tenney released a video titled "My Response #ReleaseTheContract," (shown below). Within 24 hours, the video accumulated upwards of 3.45 million views and 63,900 comments.

On May 23rd, the pop culture news site The Blast[1] published a leaked version of the contract, referred to as a "Gamer Agreement." That day, FaZe Banks tweeted[2] that the company "had every intention of releasing the contract" but admitted "the contract was trash" (shown below).
