The Iron Throne is the sixth episode of season eight of epic fantasy TV series Game of Thrones and the series finale on HBO.
Background
On May 19th, 2019, the final episode "The Iron Throne" of HBO-produced epic fantasy series Game of Thrones premiered.[1]
Online Reactions
Online, the episode received mixed reaction from the fans. The rushed progression in final episodes of the series was criticized in a similar manner to previous episodes of the season, with multiple posts expressing disappointment with how writers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, commonly referred as D&D, handled the ending of the series.[2][3]

At 44 minute mark of the episode, a water bottle can be seen next to character Samwell Tarly's left leg. The discovery of the goof, combined with the fact that a similar mistake was made in episode four of season eight The Last of the Starks led to a significant number of posts ridiculing the production quality of the show. For example, a post made by Reddit user familyphotoshoot on May 20th, 2019, gained over 48,300 upvotes in ten hours.[4]
