"Get in Loser, We're Going Shopping" is a memorable quote from the 2004 teen comedy film Mean Girls often used as a caption in photographs of animals in vehicles, in similar vein to the image macro series "There's No Time to Explain".

Origin

The quote is taken from a scene in Mean Girls wherein the antagonist Regina George (played by Rachel McAdams) drives up to the protagonist Cady Heron (played by Lindsay Lohan) in a sports convertible car and yells “Get in loser! We’re going shopping” (shown below).

The earliest known image macro featuring a variation of the quote was submitted by FunnyJunk^[7] user ItsBrianna on May 1st, 2010, featuring a photograph of President Barack Obama with the caption “Get in loser / We’re getting healthcare” (shown below).

On November 5th, 2011, a Facebook^[3] page titled "Get in loser, we're going shopping" was launched. On October 29th, 2012, Redditor severychick submitted a post titled "Get in loser, we're going shopping" to the /r/aww^[6] subreddit, highlighting a photograph of two dogs sitting in the front seats of a jeep (shown below, left). Prior to being archived, the post gained over 14,900 up votes and 150 comments. On January 18th, 2013, I Can Has Cheezburger^[2] featured a photo of a dog driving a toy car in a post titled “Get in, Loser, We’re Going Shopping” (shown below, right). In the next nine months, the post gathered upwards of 830 up votes and 140 Facebook shares.

On July 28th, 2013, Redditor almightyderplicious submitted a photograph of a llama sticking its head out of a car window in an /r/funny^[4] post titled “Get in loser, we’re going shopping,” accumulating more than 6,000 up votes and 60 comments in the following two months. On July 29th, the photograph was reposted to the Internet humor site 9gag.^[5]

On September 27th, the Zane and Heath Vine^[1] channel uploaded a parody of the Mean Girls scene featuring barbie dolls in a miniature sports car. (shown below).
