Several memes featuring the particular shirt and shorts combination went viral in 2020, and it has since made an appearance in Brailled: Fit Of The Week and other fashion gimmick accounts as a nod to the supposed ubiquity of the outfit amongst nerds worldwide.

On August 25th, 2020, Twitter^[2] user @isohelsgarden posted the outfit alongside a caption that read, "Wasted a fit there were no hoes in the chemistry zoom call," gathering over 10,000 likes in three years (seen below, left). On April 22nd, 2021, Twitter^[3] user @MatttGFX then posted a tweet that read, "Breath of the wild 2 should have a preorder bonus in the form of a unique armor set and it's just link wearing this," gathering over 45,000 likes in two years (seen below, right).
