About

Groose's Theme Goes With Everything is a series of YouTube remix videos that feature a wide range of video footage with the The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword[1] character Groose's theme song.[2] Similar to Guile's Theme Goes With Everything], the remixes feature soundtrack dissonance[4] for humorous effect.

Origin

This meme first began in late November of 2011, when YouTuber SUPERMARIOGALAXY13 [5] posted the video "Groose's Theme Goes With Everything Funny" featuring a scene from the "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic"[6] episode "May the Best Pet Win!" set to the background music of Groose's theme.

Groose

Groose is one of the main characters featured in the 2011 Nintendo game The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword along with Link and Princess Zelda. Groose is introduced as a school bully, who often makes fun of Link and has a crush on Zelda. Throughout the game, Groose's relationship with Link progressively improves and eventually, Groose helps the protagonist by joining the battle against "The Imprisoned" with his machine "The Groosenator." Due to his comical character, Groose has gained an internet following, which has spawned different videos and fan art.

Spread

Soon after the original video was posted on YouTube, many other "Groose's theme" remixes began to surface in the following days. Online communities such as Neoseeker, Zelda Universe and Tumblr [7] picked up on the meme as well, which led to a discussion over whether the meme was as good as "Guile's Theme Goes With Everything."
