The Homophobic Cat, also known as Cat Side-Eyeing Men Kissing on a Laptop or Cat Side-Eyeing Challengers Kissing Scene, refers to a viral video, GIF and photograph of a house cat looking displeased about the gay kissing scene in the film Challengers. The cat gives a side-eye expression to the camera with the two men kissing playing on a laptop in the background. The cat was nicknamed the "Homophobic Cat" after the Homophobic Dog meme. The original video and photo were posted by Twitter / X user @bigsuitfilms in late July 2025. The cat's name was Luca. X users turned the image into a reaction GIF in the following days. The photo of the cat looking at the camera with the laptop in the background also became the subject of a Twitter art trend, which manifested in redraws and fan art in which each figure was replaced with a new character to reference a subculture and fandom. Others used the image as an exploitable by replacing what was on the laptop screen.

On July 23rd, 2025, X^[1] user @bigsuitfilms tweeted a photo of a cat sitting on a bed and giving a side-eye expression in front of a laptop playing the gay kissing scene in the 2024 film Challengers. The cat looked unhappy about the two men kissing. The caption read in all caps, "THIS PHOTO I JUST GOT OF MY HOMOPHOBIC CAT I'M CRYING." Over two days, the tweet amassed over 15.1 million views and 869,000 likes (shown below).

On July 24th, X^[2] user @bigsuitfilms added a reply to the tweet, attaching a video of the cat that the photo was sourced from. The video received over 9.7 million views and 75,000 likes in a day (shown below).

On July 24th, 2025, X^[3] user @untamedyouths quote-tweeted the video, attaching a GIF of the Homophobic Cat looking at the camera and giving a side-eye. In a day, the post received over 69,000 likes (shown below).

That same day, X^[4] user @aseisheated quote-tweeted the video, writing, "Oh he’s homophobic DOWN 😭😭😭😭😭," gaining over 240,000 likes in a day (shown below).

Also on July 24th, 2025, X^[5] user @doriigs posted a redraw of the Homophobic Cat image, showing Sonic the Hedgehog and Shadow the Hedgehog kissing on the laptop, akin to the shipping of Sonadow, and Blaze the Cat giving the side-eye. In a day, the meme received roughly 10,000 likes (shown below).
