Hymn to the Decadent Life or Decadent Life Hymn is a song produced by Ro2noki using the Kasane Teto vocaloid. The song was released alongside a music video in April 2023 and became the subject of animation memes later that year, in which the lyrics are displayed alongside animations of characters from a variety of anime series, video games and other media properties. The animation memes became increasingly popular on sites including YouTube, TikTok and X / Twitter in late 2024 and early 2025.
Origin
On April 28th, 2023, music producer Ro2noki posted a vocaloid music video and song titled "Decadent Life Hymn" to YouTube,[1] garnering over 2.1 million views in just under two years.

On December 14th, 2023, YouTuber[2] highendsheep posted a fan music video set to the song, garnering over 8,000 views in just over a year. This is the earliest known animation inspired by the music video and song.

The song was further popularized as an animation meme track in late 2024, leading into early 2025. On November 30th, 2024, YouTuber[3] Danielle’s World! ☆ posted an animation meme based on Dandy's World, garnering over 400,000 views in two months. On December 7th, X[4] user @miramsm_20 posted a version based on Limbus Company, garnering over 1,100 likes in a month.
On December 13th, X[5] user @friedshrimpe posted a version of the meme based on The Amazing Digital Circus, garnering over 1,300 likes in a month.

On January 12th, 2025, YouTuber[6] Y3LLOW posted a Gacha Life animation using the song, garnering over 472,000 views in 10 days.
