I Wish To Be a X, then continuing to Yippee! refers to a four-panel exploitable meme format about an animal wishing to be a human or other thing, which, in the last panel, imagines the animal as a human or object that slightly resembles the creature by using characters from different TV, movie, anime or video game series, among other IPs. It gained virality in mid-March 2026, when users edited the format to replace the animal and the human in the two panels.

Origin

It is unclear when the format was first uploaded, but the earliest known post was found on March 13th, 2026, when Threads^[1] user @lexx_webber uploaded images of the format to imagine animals as characters in Stranger Things, including a deer turning into Will Byers (Noah Schnapp). The post received more than 22,200 views and 230 likes in one week.

Spread

The format gained virality on Twitter / X in mid-March 2026, as users created additional memes to portray how different animals would look as humans or other things and vice versa.

For example On March 14th, 2026, Twitter / X^[2] user @pekguko uploaded an image of a horse imagining if it was a girl, by using Uma Musume: Pretty Derby character Daitaku Helios. The post received more than 19,000 likes in four days.

On the same day, Twitter / X^[3] user @kafka_daily uploaded a similar format imagining novelist Franz Kafka as a girl by using Honkai Star Rail character Kafka. The post received more than 30,000 likes in four days.

On March 15th, 2026, Twitter / X^[4] user @yomikakisan uploaded fan art using the format as a reference to Hololive talent Ouro Kronii as a helicopter wishing to be a girl, resulting in it becoming Kronii, a community joke referring to the spinning clock on her head known as Kroniicopter. The post received more than 4,100 likes in three days.
