Inhale, Focus, …Now Pull The Trigger, Pomni. is an exploitable meme based on a work of crossover fanart involving Master Chief from Halo and Pomni from The Amazing Digital Circus. After the drawing was first posted in October 2023, voiceover videos and redraws featuring different characters and voices grew popular on YouTube, X and Tumblr.
Origin
The original crossover fanart was posted to Twitter / X by Grimahlnik on October 20th, 2023.[1] In the fanart (shown below), Master Chief shows Pomni how to shoot an SRS99 series sniper rifle. The art post received over 31,000 likes and over 5,200 reposts in one year.
Spread
The piece gained traction over the course of the following year, in 2024. On January 2nd, 2024, YouTuber[2] @Gianni Matragrano posted a voiceover for the scene, gathering over 37,000 views in ten months.
On January 6th, Redditor[3] /u/wombonius gathered over 800 upvotes on a redraw of the meme posted to /r/LobotomyCorp, featuring BongBong from Lobotomy Corporation.
On May 6th YouTuber[4] Aola posted a version of the meme featuring Omni-Man in a Pomni costume to YouTube, using the voiceover from Gianni Matragrano's video, gathering over 300,000 views in six months (seen below).
On May 7th, 2024, Tumblr[5] user slightlycreative posted a redraw of the meme featuring a crossover between Team Fortress 2 and Angel Hare, gathering over 500 notes in six months.
