Jessica Jones and Kilgrave is an exploitable object labeling template from the television show Jessica Jones. It is used show when someone is under intense scrutiny or when someone is physically too close for comic effect.
Origin
The still comes from Episode 11 of the 2nd season of Jessica Jones, broadcast on March 8th, 2018. The still comes from a scene where a hallucination of Kilgrave, played by David Tenant, is psychologically manipulating Jessica Jones, played by Krysten Ritter.
The first use of the still as an object labeling meme was posted in March of 2019. While the creator is unknown, it appeared in The Chive[1] on March 6th.
Spread
The template did not grow widely popular until October of 2020. On October 31st, 2020, Redditor Stormodin posted an example to /r/dankmemes,[2] gaining over 128,000 points (shown below, left). On November 5th, Imgur[3] user ClaptrapisloveClaptrapislife posted an example about Nevada slowly tallying votes in the 2020 United States Presidential Election, gaining over 63,000 views (shown below, right).
