About

Lime or emoneyLime is a Twitch emote from January 2021 that depicts a photo of streamer Erobb221 that has been distorted to resemble Pepe the Frog. LimeD is a fan-made variation on the original Lime emote uploaded in December 2021, but has since been banned by moderators or erobb221. Followers of the streamer are known to call erobb221 a "scammer," and have been critical of the beloved emote being banned for no apparent reason. The Lime emote has also been co-opted by fans of the streamer xQc, also known as Juicers, much to the chagrin of erobb221's followers.

Origin

According to BetterTTV[1], the original emoneyLime was added as a Twitch emote by streamer Erobb221 on January 11th, 2021. It is commonly used as a way to spam the chat and mock erobb221's speech or mannerisms.

But this popular canonical emote was not the first emote associated with Erobb221 to distort a face into the silhouette of Pepe The Frog. On January 19th, 2020, BetterTTV[2] @nosa_ posted "Wide Arrive," the first Pepe themed emote in Erobb221's history. On November 30th, 2020, Erobb221 uploaded a selfie as the "Lemon" emote. This selfie was then used in various Lime themed emotes, such as "Texime,"[3] "LimeThicc"[4] and finally "LimeD."

On December 29th, user PinkNittany uploaded the LimeD variation of the emoneyLime emote to Twitch[5], with Joker make-up on Erobb221's distorted face.

On April 28th, 2021, Twitch[6] user MegaBro5000 created the limebot221. According to erobb221's Fandom Wiki[7], the bot was created after Erobb221's Twitch chat began mocking his mannerisms, repeating his words and punctuating each sentence with a variation of the Lime emote.

The LimeD emote was removed by either erobb221 or his moderators on May 15th, 2022, much to the chagrin of his followers who vented their frustrations on the streamer's official subreddit[8]. The reason for the emote being banned remain unknown.
