Origin
The original post [1] was first posted on Tumblr by user buckobarns on September 14, 2016, and as of November 19, 2018, has a little under one million notes on the site, and has since been reuploaded on various photo sharing sites across the web. On Tumblr the original poster, Katie Forsyth, confirmed [2]that the cat in the photo belonged to her and was a male rescue cat by the name of Cloud.
buckobarns posted a series of follow up photos following the success of Lucky Clover Cat, including a photo of a black cat chewing on a four-leaf clover with the caption this is the unlucky clover cat. reblog in 60 seconds or he'll steal ur good luck [3]
