About

Meta's AI Chatbots are a series of chatbots powered with artificial intelligence released by Meta in September 2023. Meta enlisted various celebrities and internet personalities to act as the various faces of the chatbot, including Kendall Jenner as "Billie," MrBeast as "Zach," Tom Brady as "Bru" and Snoop Dogg as the "Dungeon Master." In late 2024 and early 2025, Meta's AI users garnered virality, leading to widespread backlash online. Shortly after this, Meta issued a statement and said it was deleting the AI-generated profiles.

Origin

On September 27th, 2023 Meta announced the release 28 of AI chatbots, each with unique interests and personalities.[1] These chatbots include celebrities like Snoop Dogg, Tom Brady, Kendall Jenner, and Naomi Osaka, as well as internet personalities like MrBeast and Charli D'amelio. A video introducing the project was posted on Meta's website and can be accessed via repost to X (seen below).

Meta listed some of the 28 AI chatbot characters, adding that there are plans set in place to introduce more faces into the cadre, including Bear Grylls, Chloe Kim, and Josh Richards. Moreover, Meta clarified that the chatbots are built on knowledge prior to the year 2023.

Each chatbot has a corresponding social media profile on Facebook and Instagram, allowing you to converse with them through systems integrated into the platforms. [2] Celebrities featured in the project were reportedly paid around $5 million for 6 hours of work.[3]
